We had an amazing time at Riverstone Retreat. The property is absolutely beautiful and the location is stunning. Our hosts went above and beyond, even delivering a bag of freshly caught whitebait and an egg for dinner. The accommodation was luxurious, with heated tiles in the bathroom and a powerful shower. The rooms were comfortable, well maintained, and clean. The kitchen was well equipped for light cooking. We also enjoyed the spacious terrace with a barbecue and tropical feel. The WiFi worked very well, and Anne Marie, our friendly host, made us feel right at home. We can't wait to return!
Totally recommend this hotel.

Always return to my favorite spot in Karamea. Staff helped navigate town on my first stay. Perfect amenities: Wi-Fi, free parking, electric kettle, kitchen utensils, AC, TV. Enjoyed cycling, fishing, golf, tennis, outdoor dining, beach access. No pets. Secure and smoke-free. Can't wait for the weekend.

The lodge was spacious and cozy, with incredible views of the river and mountains. the commercial style kitchen and the BBQ on the deck were fantastic for cooking delicious meals together. We also appreciated the complimentary refreshments provided by the friendly host.
The bathroom was small and lacked a vanity and powerpoint for using a hair dryer. It would have been nice to have a mirror in the bathroom and a box of tissues as well.

My recent stay at Riverstone Retreat was very nice. The hosts were pretty good too make me feel welcome and comfortable. The outdoor deck and the fine view were the perfect place to relax and unwind. The towels were so soft, and the bed and furniture were comfortable. The entire hotel was beautifully decorated and had a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. On top of all that, I was delighted to find yummy treats waiting for me. One of the highlights was having my personal washing done and dried, such a bonus after my adventures.
The only minor drawback was that the kitchen water faucet was a bit challenging to use, as it didn't operate in the normal manner. there were some rules in place, like not being able to cook with garlic, which seemed a bit strict to me.

The spa pool was a delightful bonus, perfect for stargazing on the balcony with comfortable cane furniture. Our host Anne Marie was incredibly welcoming and helpful, ensuring our comfort and providing helpful tips for exploring the stunning nearby hiking trails. The clean, spacious chalets had modern comforts like double glazed windows, underfloor heating, and well-appointed kitchens. The generous breakfast selection and picturesque gardens added to the overall charm of this fantastic value accommodation.

We got great value for our money at Riverstone Retreat. The room was clean, tidy, and had everything we needed. The location was perfect, allowing us easy access to the beach and some amazing walks. The staff were attentive, our stay was enjoyable.
The only thing that could have made the breakfast better was if there were more hot food options available.

The chalet at Riverstone Retreat Karamea was absolutely amazing. It had a warm and modern feel with double-glazed windows that kept out the cold. The kitchenette had all the necessary appliances, making it easy for us to prepare our vegetarian meals. The luxurious bathroom with underfloor heating was a nice touch. And the best part? The balcony and river views were breathtaking!
Personally, I wasn't a fan of the electric kettle in the studio. But hey, that's just my preference, and others might find it convenient.
